Free Trial Membership Eligibility

At Mutual, safety, trust, and reliability are at the core of everything we do. This page provides details about membership eligibility, onboarding, and requirements to become a part of the Mutual community.

Membership Requirements

To carshare with Mutual, you must meet the following criteria:

Onboarding Requirements

Clean ICBC Driving and Insurance Records

To ensure a safe and reliable carsharing experience, we require all applicants to submit their driving and insurance history for review.

Here’s how to submit your records:

  1. Visit the ICBC Driving Record and Insurance History page.
  2. Provide the following documents (select 4 years of claims history where applicable):
    • Driver factor report
    • Personal driving record
    • Residential address history
    • Insurance and claims history
  3. Email the documents to members@gomutual.co.

Helpful tips:

  • ● Use your ICBC keyword (often your mother’s maiden name) to access your records.
  • ● For the driver’s license “date of issue,” select the year first, then the month, then the day.

Driving and Insurance Qualification Criteria

We review your ICBC records to confirm you have a safe driving history. Here’s what we check:

Driver Factor Report

● No scores above 1.000.

Personal Driving Record (past 4 years)

● No restrictions.
● No contraventions.
● No license suspensions or prohibitions.

Residential Address History

● Must confirm permanent residency in British Columbia.

Insurance and Claims History (past 4 years)

● No at-fault claims (more than 25% liable).
● Claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Social Media Review

We conduct a review of applicants’ social media profiles and an online search to ensure they align with our values.

Applicants must share at least one social media account, such as: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, or Facebook.

What we look for:

● No promotion of violence, hate, racism, sexism, homophobia, bullying, or other harmful content.

Your shared profiles will be visible only to other approved members, helping build trust and connection within the community.

Membership Conditions

Membership is subject to Mutual’s Terms of Membership. Sign up or reach out to Member Support to access.

Trial Membership Duration

Trial Membership ends when:

Mutual reserves the right to extend or terminate Trial Membership at its discretion.
